<description>I'd love to be able to figure this out. I'm on Facebook and I have lots of friends, most of whom I don't know, and a lot that are other real estate agents or lenders. A lot the "non-profession" people on my friends list they also in my network.

If you're in Minneapolis and I'm in the MD Suburbs of DC how does Facebook help me help you (or your other friends) buy/sell real estate across geographies? Supposedly, you could refer your friend who is moving here to me. Or maybe you have a friend that currently lives down here and wants to buy/sell in my area. But if you really don't know me other than from Facebook, would you feel comfortable referring?

Just curious. As I said, I haven't quite figured it out yet.

<description>That's the whole "social capital" angle... people prefer to do business with those they know and like.

&lt;b&gt;But what if something goes wrong?&lt;/b&gt; I know a few folks who are a little more "money conscious" than others... and tho they are great as friends, I would never want to do business with them, or refer any of my friends to them. I know it would ruin a friendship.
